On February 3, 2011 Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, Dist. 4 addressed the Florida Panhandle Patriots meeting. He said in numerous instances, local governments are imposing restrictions on guns, including the prohibition of carrying a concealed weapon on public property and requiring micro-engraving of ammunition. One man was arrested in a graveyard for carrying his concealed weapon while visiting his son's grave.
In the Florida Senate, a similar bill introduced by Senator Negron will also be heard. SB 402 is a bill to STOP local politicians and governments from violating state law by providing penalties for willful violations.
